STUDI KOMPARATIF TENTANG KEMESIASAN YESUS DALAM PERSPEKTIF YUDAISME, DITINJAU DARI KITAB YESAYA 53:1-12

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep Mesias dalam tradisi Yudaisme yang diinterpretasikan melalui teks Yesaya 53:1-12, serta melihat perbandingan interpretasi konsep Mesias tersebut dengan Kekristenan. Dengan menggunakan metode komparatif, Penelitian ini membandingkan berbagai tafsiran rabinik terhadap Yesaya 53 dengan doktrin kemesiasan Yesus seperti yang tercermin dalam Injil-Injil Perjanjian Baru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun ada kesamaan dalam aspek-aspek tertentu dari sifat dan peran Mesias, terdapat perbedaan mendasar dalam cara kedua tradisi memahami konteks dan makna dari nubuat tersebut. Dalam tradisi Yudaisme, Yesaya 53 sering diartikan sebagai referensi kepada Israel sebagai “Hamba Tuhan” dan bukan individu Mesias. Sebaliknya, Kekristenan melihat Yesus sebagai penggenapan nubuat tersebut melalui perannya sebagai penyelamat dan pembebas umat manusia.

This thesis examines the Messiahship of Jesus from the perspective of Judaism with a focus on Isaiah 53:1-12. This research aims to analyze how the concept of Messiah in the Judaic tradition is interpreted through the text of Isaiah 53, as well as how this interpretation compares with the understanding of Jesus' messiahship in Christianity. Using the comparative method, this thesis compares the various rabbinic interpretations of Isaiah 53 with the doctrine of Jesus' messiahship as reflected in the New Testament Gospels. The results show that while there are similarities in certain aspects of the nature and role of the Messiah, there are fundamental differences in the way the two traditions understand the context and meaning of the prophecy. In the Judaic tradition, Isaiah 53 is often interpreted as a reference to Israel as the "Servant of the Lord" and not the individual Messiah. In contrast, Christianity sees Jesus as the fulfillment of the prophecy through his role as the savior and liberator of humanity.
